Please join us for our September Member Luncheon presented by Our Lady and the Lake Ascension!

We are excited to welcome Deborah Sternberg as our guest speaker for this month's luncheon!

Deborah Sternberg began her career as a driver for Mary Landrieu in her run for Governor of Louisiana, then later served as U.S. Senator Landrieu’s deputy chief of staff. Following her time on Capitol Hill, she joined CBS News as an associate producer, where she worked closely with news veteran Dan Rather. She covered events including the impeachment hearings of President Clinton, the contested Bush/Gore presidential election, John F. Kennedy Jr’s fatal plane crash, and the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks at ground zero.

As vice president of the New York-based public relations firm Goodman Media International, she handled accounts ranging from U.S. News & World Report to The Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation. She organized events, including the 50th Anniversary of Rock ‘n Roll, which received worldwide coverage.

Returning home to Louisiana, Deborah took on the role of president of Starmount Life, her family’s insurance business. After growing the business to cover approximately one million people nationwide, she received recognition, including the “Influential Women in Business” award from the Baton Rouge Business Report.

Following the successful sale of Starmount to Unum, Deborah found herself in an exciting position to give back. She launched the Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge ( YEA BR ), an after-school program that transforms high school students into confident entrepreneurs.
