Shift Lead - Interviewing Now for a Brand-New Location in Gonzales

Follows and models the values, mission, and culture of CC’s Coffee House; responsible for leading assigned shifts, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Shift Lead supports daily store operations by supervising team members, maintaining service, quality, and cleanliness standards, and executing company procedures related to cash handling, food safety, and team member performance. This role serves as the leader on duty and ensures all standards are consistently upheld during the shift.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead assigned shifts by directing team members, maintaining flow of operations, and ensuring all service, quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.

• Supervise team members during shifts, providing real-time coaching, feedback, and support to ensure strong performance and adherence to company expectations.

• Deliver and uphold exceptional guest service by greeting guests warmly, engaging with sincerity, identifying needs, recommending products, and resolving concerns promptly.

• Prepare and serve beverages, food, and other menu items according to company recipes, procedures, and quality standards.

• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to health regulations.

• Manage cash handling procedures during shifts, including register counts, reconciliation, deposits, and accurate transaction processing in accordance with company policy.

• Perform and oversee opening and closing duties, including securing the premises, completing checklists, and ensuring operational readiness.

• Maintain proper product levels by monitoring inventory, stocking service stations, and communicating needs to management.

• Ensure the store environment is clean, organized, and maintained, including dining areas, restrooms, production areas, and exterior spaces.

• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding shift performance, operational challenges, and team member concerns.

• Assist in training and onboarding new team members by reinforcing company standards, providing instruction, and modeling expected behaviors.

• Support staffing adjustments during shifts by reallocating labor and assisting in coverage solutions as needed.

• Accurately complete administrative tasks during shifts, including reporting, documentation, and timekeeping support.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and incident reporting protocols related to safety, security, and operations.


SHIFT LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Lead team members during assigned shifts by setting clear expectations, maintaining operational flow, and ensuring all service, quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently achieved.

• Lead by example through consistent demonstration of CC’s values, professionalism, and a positive, team-first attitude that reinforces a strong culture on every shift.

• Provide real-time coaching, direction, and support to team members to drive performance, reinforce standards, and enhance the overall guest experience.

• Act as the primary point of contact during shifts, making sound decisions to address operational challenges, guest concerns, and team member needs. • Communicate effectively with the General Manager regarding shift performance, team member development opportunities, and any operational or guest-related issues.

• Support team member development by reinforcing training, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging accountability and growth.

• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment by reinforcing company policies, safety procedures, and behavioral expectations.

• Take ownership of shift outcomes by ensuring accuracy in cash handling, adherence to procedures, and completion of all required reporting and documentation.


 QUALIFICATIONS 

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in food service, retail, or hospitality preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong guest service orientation and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to read and interpret basic operational instructions, safety guidelines, and procedures.

• Basic math skills required for cash handling and transactions.


 REQUIREMENTS 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. as part of daily operations.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, cold, and mechanical equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred or required within a designated timeframe.

• Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation as needed for business-related tasks (e.g., bank deposits, if applicable).
